News 24 "Internal": fight against drug and arms trafficking and the arrest of 825 accused during the three months spent in Jazan and Assir

The Ministry of the Interior has succeeded in thwarting the attempts to smuggle a quantity of drugs and weapons and to arrest the people involved, within three months, at the sites mountainous border areas located in the regions of Jazan and Asir.

Colonel Talal Al-Shalhoub, director of the media center at the Ministry of Interior, said that the patrols of security groups and as part of the execution of their security duties at border posts resulted in 52 tons of illegal drugs, 157 kilograms of hashish, 209 different weapons and 16,200 life-time ammunition.

Lieutenant-Colonel Chalhoub added that 825 suspects had been arrested, over one million riyals had been seized and 743 cars seized in various cases.
