The Arab world and Muslim countries were scandalized yesterday by the terrorist attack on two synagogues in Christchurch, New Zealand. Arab states and religious institutions have denounced the attack, amid calls for intensification of international efforts to combat violence.
In Saudi Arabia, an official source from the Foreign Ministry condemned the attack. The source reiterated "Saudi Arabia's condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and its image, whatever its source … and that terrorism has no religion or homeland".
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the UAE has expressed "its total solidarity with New Zealand in the face of extremism and terrorism and stands with it in all actions undertaken to maintain the security of its people. citizens and residents on its territory ". In a statement, the ministry recalled "the firm position of the UAE and the rejection of terrorism in all its forms".
"Our collective efforts against violence and hatred must continue with renewed determination," Yesterday told United Arab Emirates Foreign Minister Anwar Gargash. While the "Forum for the Promotion of Peace in Muslim Societies" condemned the attack, which he described as "brutal massacre". "We condemn this act of racist terrorism and the heinous crime committed against persons deprived of dignity and compassion," said Sheikh Abdullah Bin Bayah, chairman of the United Arab Emirates Council for the Islamic Fatwa.
