The first person to reach the surface of Mars will probably be a woman.
NASA Director Jim Brydenstein revealed exciting plans to send human beings to the Red Planet on Radio Science Friday this week.
NASA has already announced its intention to send humans to Mars by mid-2030, but the crew remains so far a mystery.
Brydenstein said about the show: "A woman will probably be the first person to reach the red planet." Interestingly, Braidenstein added that a female element would be included in NASA's next mission on the Moon.
The announcement comes shortly after NASA announced its first spacewalk on March 29, when Ann McLean and Christina Koch will float outside the International Space Station.
