Apple has discussed the cancellation of the "repeat button" on iPhone phones because of concerns about its adverse effects on mental health, and Yves Sleep has sent a letter to the tech giant asking for the removal of the "repeat button". The company claims that triggering the alarm for 9 minutes has "harmful" effects on health.
"The repeat button can have a detrimental effect on your health, especially your mental health," said Matt Jens, a mental health and neuroscience expert who supports the campaign. "You multiply your brain and your body every time you hit the afternoon nap, assign your autonomic nervous system every time you wake up."
"We are aware of the tremendous impact that the Snooze button has on millions of Britons each morning. On World Sleep Day, we hope that Apple will join us in urging the country to reject the repeat, "said James Sturrock, CEO of Yves Sleep. It's unclear why Yves Sleep decided to focus on Apple, as all smart phone brands compete, offering repeat buttons on their own alarms.
