Barcelona announces absence of Luis Suarez due to injury

MADRID (Reuters) – Barcelona announced Monday the results of medical tests done by striker Luis Suarez after a right ankle injury at Real Betis.

The FC Barcelona official website has issued an official statement of the player's absence for 10 to 15 days, after the medical examinations turned out to be a spin on the ankle of the right foot.

The Barcelona Medical Service revealed that the player had begun to recover from his injury and had been excluded from the Uruguayan team, according to the site cited by Egypt (in July).

Suarez scored a goal in the 4-1 win over Barcelona in Primera Liga against Real Betis and was replaced by an injury.

Suarez has scored 18 goals in the Primera Liga this season and is second in the list of goals behind Lionel Messi, who has 29 goals.

Suarez doubts therefore the participation of Barcelona in Espanyol and Villarreal in the Spanish league on March 30 and April 2, after the international stopover.

The player is ready to face Atletico Madrid on April 6, four days before Manchester United is facing the Champions League.
