NEW YORK (Reuters Health) – The risk of drinking tea or coffee is hot, leading to cancer, a study said Wednesday.
People who drink tea at age 60 or older are more likely to develop esophageal cancer, and drinking tea or coffee after a small cold is considered healthier, the study said.
The cause of cancer was primarily related to alcohol consumption patterns among people aged 40 to 70, and the researchers discovered the findings after 5,045 people, reported the International Journal of Cancer.
The researchers compared those who drank less than 700 milliliters of tea a day to less than 60 degrees Celsius and drank 700 milliliters a day or more at 60 degrees Celsius or more. The drink was found to be very hot, associated with a 90% increase in esophageal cancer.
