A body from Saudi Arabia that should return to a Sri Lankan by mistake arrived in India instead of the body of a 20-year-old Indian who died from a heart attack last month in the kingdom, Business Standard reported, quoted by Business Standard.
In details, an Indian family was waiting for the arrival of the body of his son Rafik, 28, died of a heart attack in Saudi Arabia last month. When the casket was opened, the family was surprised by the body of a woman.
The coffin was taken from the airport to his home in Kony, 90 km away. When the coffin was opened to complete the burial ceremony, it was discovered that it was safe. It was the bad body, not the body of their son, and the security authorities were immediately informed.
A Kony police official said the body belonged to a Sri Lankan woman and the security authorities had taken the necessary steps to recover it.
