The Smouha basketball team beat Al Ahli 91 to 82 in the eighth round of the African championship clubs.
The first quarter ended at the Cairo stadium, with Smouha 24-21 and 37-34.
Before Al Ahly came back and finished the third quarter with a 57-53 lead, Smouha managed to win the match.
The return match will take place on April 7th in Alexandria.
Al-Ahly must beat Smouha with a points difference to qualify for the semifinals of the African clubs championship.
