Mohammed Al-TamimiMohammed Al Tamimi, Deputy Governor of CITC, said the TRA had urged the Kingdom's telecommunications companies to double the mechanisms for disclosing details of key features and benefits of the packages and offers to users.

Al-Tamimi said at a press conference attended by "Akhbar 24" that this directive reflected TRA's commitment to allowing users to make the appropriate decisions before participating in any package with telecommunications companies, stressing that TRA would oblige carriers to double the mechanisms for disclosing all details related to the packages.

He added that one team was working immediately after this commitment to verify that the companies were publishing and clarifying all the obligations of the Authority and other entities, pointing out that the Authority represented an arm of control over the market and that there were almost daily campaigns to monitor violations, and all the irregularities monitored by the days.

He explained that this directive was binding on all Kingdom telecommunications companies, adding that the user had the right to ask telecommunications companies to disclose details and data of the benefits and features associated with the package that he or she wanted to receive or subscribe.

He pointed out that the Council of Ministers decided, more than 15 years ago, that the telecommunications market was an open and fully allocated market, as the Commission did not set prices, but controlled if there were competitive prices or a price war, and that was the role of the agency to intervene.
