NASA will send a helicopter to Mars for a special mission early in the year 2020, in order to become the third type of vehicle to reach the red planet.

In previous missions, Mars had received landing gear and mobile vehicles, but the third type of vehicle, the helicopter, is planned. According to NASA, this Mars helicopter is a small, self-propelled robotic helicopter.

The robotic helicopter will experiment with the possibility of stealing materials, objects or heavier vehicles on Mars.

If successful, it would be the first flight of a heavier body to Mars.

The helicopter will allow scientists to explore remote areas of the parent vehicle on the red planet.

According to NASA, due to the nature of the Mars atmosphere, the small Mars helicopter will face many risks and challenges because of the atmospheric pressure on the red planet. The aircraft was designed to fly at maximum 4.5 feet from the surface of the planet, thanks to two double-length antennas, each of about 1.2 meters (4 feet), with a speed rotation of up to 2,400 cycles per second, about 10 times faster than the land-based helicopter.
