With support from UNICEF, the tetanus training course organized by the primary health care sector of the Ministry of Public Health and Population ended on Monday in Aden.
This two-day course aims to provide the 36 department heads of the departments of care, vaccination, education, and surveillance and vaccination of governorates of Aden, Lahj governorates, Abyan, Shabwa, Al-Dhalea and Hadramaout, theoretical and practical knowledge of the field guide to reduce and eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus.
The course also aimed to introduce routine tetanus immunization services, identify high-risk districts and promote tetanus immunization, notification, vaccination doses, recalls and data collection.
For his part, Dr. Ali Al-Walidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health of the Primary Health Care Sector, urged participants to work towards the practical translation of the guide's vocabulary and to enhance the effectiveness of the all activities aimed at immunizing children and mothers against neonatal tetanus.
