The Housing Ministry revealed the latest developments regarding the housing market in the Kingdom and its connection with population growth in terms of increasing the number of families within 8 years, in addition to the number of new households and the percentage of citizens owning a home.

The Ministry of Housing survey showed that in the middle of 2018, the number of Saudi households living in owned dwellings had increased by 60.49%, while the number of Saudi households living in rented dwellings had fallen to 37.63% over the same period. .

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia recorded an increase in the number of Saudi households occupying dwellings owned by (531,487) dwellings in mid-2018, compared to 511,285 dwellings in 2017, with a growth rate of 3.9 per cent . By mid-2018, a growth rate of 2.8%.

In the eastern region, it went from 242,902 dwellings in 2017 to 252,003 in mid-2018, with a growth rate of 3.7%, the highest rate on the list of housing provided by the employer being about 7.07%.

The increase in the number of households living in houses owned by armed builders increased from 1,749,316 in 2017 to 1,856,541 in mid-2018, with a growth rate of 6.13%. At the population level, the ministry revealed that there was an increase in the number of Saudi households from (2,996,253) families in 2010 to (3,591,098) families up to the middle of 2018 with a growth rate of 19.85%.

The number of new households increased by 2.47% in mid-2018, or 86,408 families compared to 2017. The Mecca region grew by 2.88% with an increase of about 25,079 new families, making a total of 896,168 people. (20,749) families and the total (850,419) families.
