Suhair Ramzi confirmed that she had decided to take off her hijab after several years because she had discovered that "this is not a real hijab, but a kind of modesty".
"I remained engaged after the death of my mother and I got married, and saw for my hijab that I received a modesty veil and I became lighter after growing up," said Ramzi, 69 years, when meeting with the show "Under Control" on the television Al-Nahar.

The famous artist sparked controversy over social networking sites, after finally deciding to remove the hijab after wearing it 25 years ago.
