Tunisia said Friday that it is coordinating its efforts with other Arab countries to contain any repercussions of the US decision to recognize Israel's sovereignty over the Golan Heights.
"We will work with the rest of the Arab sister countries and the international community to contain all the possible repercussions of this resolution in various international and regional fora," said Tunisian Foreign Minister Khamis Jahnawi.
Al-Jahnawi made the remarks when his country took the rotating presidency of the Arab League ahead of the annual Arab summit in Tunis, which should focus on the US decision on the Golan Heights and its earlier decision to recognize Jerusalem as capital .
Israel occupied the Golan Heights and Jerusalem during the 1967 Middle East War, then annexed them in a movement that was not universally recognized.
