The emirate of Sharjah participated in the activities of the 4th edition of the Festival of Culture and Arabic, organized by the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan, Italy.

This is part of his great cultural and cultural project led by the vision and advice of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, a member of the Supreme and Sovereign Council of Sharjah.

The festival will be held from March 28 to 30, in the honor of Arabic literature and culture, in strategic partnership with the Sharjah Book Authority and in collaboration with the Academy of Language Arab in Sharjah.

The Sharjah delegation included Ahmad Bin Rakad Al Ameri, Chairman of the Sharjah Book Authority, Mohammed Khalaf, General Manager of the Sharjah Radio and Television Authority, and Mohammed Al Mostaghanmi, Secretary. General of the Sharjah Arabic Language Academy.

In the presence of Abdullah Hassan Al Shamsi, consul general of the United Arab Emirates in Milan, several ambassadors and consuls of the Arab countries of Italy, Arab and Italian intellectuals and poets, as well as of more 500 Italian and European students studying Arabic literature in the Arabic language department "University of the Sacred Heart".

Sharjah's participation in the festival under the slogan "Sheherazade outside the palace" as part of its international efforts to strengthen the presence of the Arabic language in the international arena and to provide the knowledge gained from the global cultural scene and to re-examine the role of the Arabic language in the march of human civilization.

The festival, which lasted three days, witnessed the presence of a group of Arab and Italian writers and artists and raised a number of questions about Arab women and the Arab world.

The opening ceremony of the festival, which coincided with the Arab Book Fair and the Italian Book on the Arab World, included speeches by Maria Cristina Gatti, President of the Institute of Studies of the Arabic Language, Giovanni Gopper, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Foreign Languages ​​at Sacred Heart University, Wael Farouk is Professor of Arabic Literature at Catholic Sacred Heart University.

A group of Italian university students presented Fayrouz with links to Arabic music, as well as various poems highlighting the aesthetics of the Arabic language.

Every year, the Festival of Culture and Arab Languages ​​in Milan celebrates Arab cultural and cognitive achievements, presents its ancient and contemporary symbols to European intellectuals and brings together Arab intellectuals, writers, researchers and historians as part of its fourth session, and has chosen to focus on the role of Arabic literature and literature in the march of human culture.
