BEIJING (Reuters) – Researchers at the University of South Korea (ROK) have warned of a serious influenza strain transmitted by animals that can mutate and move between humans and cats.
Since the strain is likely to spread more rapidly in humans, it is therefore advisable for scientists to monitor animals closely and consult a veterinarian if the symptoms of the infection.
In their study, the scientists concluded that the possibility of transmission of bird flu to dogs was limited and that the virus could mix in the dog with another strain that could be transmitted to humans without any resistance.
