Apple has officially announced Friday it has abandoned the launch of its wireless platform AirPower, announced two years ago and expected to arrive in 2018, but has been delayed so far.
Apple said in a statement that the main reason for the cancellation of the idea was that the platform was not able to meet the maximum performance and efficiency standards set by Apple and therefore decided not to launch AirPower on the market.
The company apologized to its long-awaited audience for the new product, saying it was still convinced that the future was based on wireless technologies and that it would still support this trend.
Throughout the period leading up to the announcement of Airpower in 2017, Apple's delay in its access to the wireless charger market was reported due to the warming factor of the charging devices. The company has been slow to reveal its own player in this market, wireless charging will leave Apple behind the big companies in the technology market.
