Mr. Amr Hamzawy, Professor of Political Science at Cairo University, separated from his wife Basma.
A close source said that the divorce of Basma and Amr Hamzawi took place about two months ago at the Embassy of Egypt in the United States.
The source added that Basma recently returned from America while Amr Hamzawy wanted to see his daughter Nadia because Amr wanted to stay with her, which was one of the reasons for their disagreement between them.
He continued: "Basma returned to her mother's home and left the marital home after the long-standing differences, but she finally took her daughter Nadia and left the marital home to seek a divorce."
"I have a happy couple life with my husband and daughter Nadia," Amr Hamzawy said. "There are no differences between Basma and me, and our life goes on, and our care for children takes place between Berlin and Cairo."
During the past period, Basma had refused to travel abroad after preventing Amr Hamzawy from traveling for political reasons and he supported it a lot during his recent trial, but the differences quickly expanded. But it seems that the spread of news in the technical center has prompted them not to divorce in order not to be subject to rumors, especially since some of the reasons that explain the differences that drove Basma to believe that the marriage was too much for his career, and that he would like to go back there again
