The UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterich, said that he had attended the 30th Arab Summit with the aim of deepening relations between the UN and all Arab peoples. North Africa and the Middle East play an important role in the quest for peace and stability.
In his speech at the 30th Arab Summit in Tunis, Guterich added that the United Nations had no other agenda than to support these aspirations in an atmosphere of unity.
The 30th Ordinary Session of the Arab Summit was held today in Tunis under the chairmanship of Tunisian President Beji Caid Sibsi of Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
The agenda of the summit includes 20 projects and more specifically the response to the US statement on the occupied Golan despite the absence of Syria from the Summit, the Palestinian issue, the situation in Libya and Yemen, the support for development in Sudan and Iranian interventions in Arab countries.
