The American rapper Ermes Asgidum, known as Nebesie Hassel, was killed Sunday after being shot in front of a clothing store he owned in South Los Angeles, California.
Two people were shot and wounded, police sources told the Los Angeles Times.
Hassel, 33, nominated for the prestigious Grammy Awards in the music world, was shot several times before being transferred to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, the newspaper said.
The municipal police said they still do not have "information about a suspect".
Hassel has already spoken about his origins in the southern suburbs of Los Angeles and his involvement in a street gang during his teenage years.
