The National Authority of Tourism and National Heritage has recently restored more than 1,000 national antiquities of the United States, in coordination with the Saudi Foreign Ministry.
The Director General of Registration and Protection of Antiquities at the General Authority of Tourism and National Heritage, Mr. Nayef Al-Qunour, said that the Authority is intensifying its efforts and efforts to cooperation with its partners to restore national antiquities from within and outside of Saudi Arabia.
"The total number of these coins amounted to 1127 national antiquities, which had been voluntarily recovered from relatives of American citizens who were working in the kingdom in the 1960s, and are divided into two groups.
He explained that the first group of restored monuments represented 247 national antiques of the American citizen Mark Gold Smith and the second group, consisting of 880 national antiques, had been found with the American citizen Carol Musman, a variety of objects dating of different ages and eras.
For his part, the head of the Department of Antiquities returned to the Commission, Abdul Aziz al-Dayel, that the artifacts received were the subject of a sorting, a photograph and a documentation by specialists from the Commission, followed by the preparation of a report, and then registered in the National Register of Antiquities of the body, noting that the distinctive pieces would appear in the Wing Restored Monuments at the National Museum.
"The Authority wishes to promote awareness of the importance of the national heritage and the need to preserve it as an important source of the Kingdom's cultural heritage by honoring the recipients of national antiquities both at home and abroad. Inside and outside the Kingdom at one of the Commission's events: Archeology or restoration of national antiquities. "
The number of coins recovered inside and outside the Kingdom has so far reached more than 53,000 national antiquities.
