SHARJAH, March 24 (Reuters)

The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced that medical authorities have launched an anti-cholera vaccination campaign in the cyclone-hit coastal city of Pera in Mozambique to contain the epidemic, which has already touched more than 1,400 people.

The campaign, which began Wednesday, will last six days, confirmed spokesman Christian Landmeyer.

The World Health Organization has already sent nearly 900 doses of cholera vaccine. Only Hurricane Iday crashed last month and caused flooding.
