Masar said the option of dropping the dollar in oil sales had been discussed by the kingdom by a number of Saudi energy officials in recent months.
He added that the kingdom had threatened to sell oil in currencies other than the dollar if Washington passed a law that would make OPEC member countries vulnerable to antitrust litigation.
