NEW YORK (Reuters Health) – A recent study reveals that adding nuts to the diet of older people for a few months increases their magnesium and vitamin C levels.
According to the study, which includes 32 people, average 55 years old, a handful of hazelnuts a day can fight Alzheimer's disease and keep it away from humans.
A laboratory analysis of the blood samples of the study members, after consuming two hazelnuts for 16 weeks, revealed an increase in the concentration of magnesium in the blood as well as vitamin C in the body, compared to a decrease in the levels of glucose and harmful cholesterol in the body.
"All of this is that hazelnuts are good for humans," said Marit Trapper, a professor at Oregon State University. As many people do not like to eat supplements like multivitamins, Nuts are the perfect alternative, but they constitute a natural diet.
