A recent study found that a rare Japanese plant used by samurai warriors might contain the secrets of the fight and slowing down of aging, according to an article in the Daily Mail newspaper.
The natural compound of the Ashitapa plant, nicknamed "DMC", was a key theme in an international study on slowing the aging of human cells.
The study found that this natural compound helps protect cells and significantly delay aging because it contains new vitality properties.
The researchers also discovered that the DMC compound could prolong the life of worms and mice with acceptable speed and was to be tested soon on humans.
The study also revealed that the plant, also called Angelica Keisky Kwidzumi, was used in ancient medicine recipes to "increase age and improve health," according to the report.
Scientists believe that the discovery of this substance is an important step in the identification and development of anti-aging drugs.
