Two people sued Apple, accusing it of making false commercial claims about the size and number of pixels of the OLED screens imported by the latest iPhone: iPhone X, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max.
Plaintiffs Christian Sponcado and Courtney Davis' plaintiffs in one of the US District of North California's hearing rooms wrote that Apple had "lied" about the number of non-screened pixels counted with the number of pixels in the screen.
The lawyers added that what Apple had done was contrary to all other iPhone phones because the company was trying to mislead consumers into thinking that the new iPhone X had more pixels (and better resolution). screen) than in reality.
The plaintiffs both claim that the measurement and accuracy of the screen falsely ignore the protrusions and rounded corners of Apple phones, and that the company markets the products as they do not. were not different from devices such as the iPhone 8, which contains a rectangular screen.
In the 55-page complaint, the plaintiffs said that Apple had marketed the iPhone X as a 5.8-inch screen, but that after measuring the diameter of the 39; screen, except for rounded corners, it had been found that the screen size was 5.6875 inches.
In terms of accuracy, the phone estimated that its screen resolution was 2436 x 1125 pixels, but the fact that the screen pixels do not contain the default number of subpixels makes the actual accuracy lower than that indicated by the company. The complaint indicated that the iPhone 8 Plus offers greater accuracy than that of the iPhone X.
The lawsuit also blames Apple for using fraudulent marketing images, such as iPhone XS and XS Max surrounded by an overlapping black background. In the marketing phrase of two phones, the company offers "full-screen" phones. This can make consumers believe that phones are smooth.
Apple's class action lawsuit seeks a court order against abusive practices, as well as compensation for all consumers affected by this "deceit" and their participation in the lawsuit.
