After Microsoft introduced us to its Project xCloud cloud delivery service and before Google announced its new game plans, Valve updated its SteamLink app to allow an uninterrupted gaming experience outside your home.
Previously, the SteamLink app did not allow users to remotely play on their Android devices unless they were on the same network as the computer. However, by offering the Anywhere feature, you can choose where you want to enjoy Steam games.
This new feature is still in beta and requires a few extra steps, such as downloading the latest version of the app on your Android device and activating the experimental structure on Steam on your computer. Once you have enabled participation in the test process and you have connected both devices, everything is fine.
In theory, you will now be able to run the entire Steam library as long as you have a strong enough connection for your phone and computer. There are no exact figures on "optimal network speed", so the user experience may vary from one user to another. Overall, SteamLink is only available on Android and Raspberry Pi devices at the moment.
