A phone for the next iPhone could be made in India

Apple could look to India for the next iPhone phones, partly because of imminent threats and the consequences of the US-China trade war.

From early 2019, iPhone phones will be assembled in the Foxconn factory in Sriobirumbudur, Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, India.

While Foxconn (the Taiwanese company outsourced to Apple for the manufacture of iPhone) is already manufacturing phones in India, it will be the first time that the company makes iPhone phones in the country.

Foxconn will spend $ 365 million to expand the plant and create up to 25,000 new jobs in India, the country's industry minister told Reuters.

According to another source, the extension will allow Apple to manufacture in India the most expensive models of its phones, such as the series of phones for iPhone X.

As the world's largest electronics manufacturing company, Foxconn has factories around the world, including the United States. However, the current trade war between the United States and China has played a major role in the future strategy of the society. Foxconn is currently looking to open a new production base in Vietnam in anticipation of the consequences of the trade war.

Apple has already collected some cheap iPhone devices in India, such as the iPhone 4S and the iPhone 6S, but this has been done by another manufacturer. The latest development with Foxconn may well be Apple's decision to expand its market share in India, the fastest-growing smartphone market in the world.
