Books – Youssef Afifi:
A triple conjunction between Jupiter, Saturn and Mercury is observed in the sky of the Arab world on Sunday evening, about 45 minutes after sunset.
Engineer Majid Abu Zahra, head of the Jeddah Astronomical Society, said the three planets would form a small triangle and it might be necessary to use telescopes to see this conjunction, since the planets will be low towards the horizon and that the horizon should be fully exposed without obstacles such as buildings.
Abu Zahra added on the association’s official Facebook page that Jupiter would fall directly above Saturn. Although Saturn’s luminosity is equivalent to the luminosity of a first degree star – like the luminosity of the brightest stars in our sky – yet the ringed planet cannot compete with the outperforming Jupiter. On it about 11 times, Jupiter is the fourth brightest celestial body, after the sun, moon, and Venus, respectively, and at the top left of Saturn (according to the observer) will see Mercury.
It should be noted that day by day Jupiter and Saturn will descend to the site of sunset and in return Mercury will rise away from the light of sunset.
