A group of scientists proposed a "revolutionary" solution to fight mosquito bites in humans, promising to put an end to diseases transmitted by the harmful insect.
According to CNN, scientists have discovered that the drugs that humans use for their diet can lose the appetite of female mosquitoes for human blood.
The study, which is still in its infancy, indicates that such drugs alter the hormones of female mosquitoes, making them "full", far from the bites of humans to get blood.
A team of researchers from the Rockefeller Group in New York successfully introduced a drug containing "appetite suppressant" chemicals for female mosquitoes and noted the striking results.
But CNN did not mention how the drug had been introduced into the body of mosquitoes.
The experiment has managed to exclude women, who rely on human blood for the protein needed for training and spawning, to attack humans.
Mosquito-borne diseases kill millions of people every year, including zika, yellow fever and dengue fever, although only women bite.
