Spanish singer Joanna Sainz Garcia died after being injured by an explosion of fireworks during one of her performances.
Sainz, aged 30, performed with the orchestra "Super Hollywood" in a theater near Madrid when the incident occurred.
The fireworks exploded on the stage near the singer, making her lose consciousness this Sunday.
The singer's ambulance team was taken to the hospital and her death was confirmed later.
A thousand spectators attended the concert in the city of Las Berlánas, northwest of Madrid.
Images broadcast by social media users would show when the fireworks exploded, knocking Sainz to the ground.
The newspaper "El Diario Montanes" in which a doctor and a nurse were part of the public tried to rescue the singer before the arrival of the team of medical ambulances.
Sainz is a major dancer and choreographer of the group Super Hollywood, a group of 15 singers, musicians and dancers.
The group was hired to perform at the end of a four-day festival in Las Perlánas.
Advertising officials told the newspaper El Norte de Castilla that the "unfortunate" incident appeared to be due to faults in the manufacture of a pyrotechnic device.
Isidro Lopez, owner of the propaganda company Bruns Wansl, in charge of promoting the group, told local media that the group had used fireworks at previous shows without incident.
"The whole family, partners, artists, friends and coworkers of Bruns are deeply saddened by the passing of our friend Joanna Sains," the company said in a statement posted on Facebook.
The local government of Las Berlánas, who organized the festival, praised the singer Sains and called her in a message on Facebook that said: "Joanna Sainz, you are in our memories".
