The Egyptian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday issued a strong statement in response to statements by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attacking President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and at the Arab-European summit held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.

"Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is looking at us once again and talking to us about Egypt and its political leaders," Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Hafiz said. "Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is clearly hostile to the Brotherhood and its support".

"Such arguments come from the side of imprisonment and imprisonment of journalists, 175 journalists and media workers, while estimating the presence of more than 70,000 political prisoners in Turkey."
