"Noncommunicable diseases account for 60 per cent of the global burden of disease, exceeding other health problems of the twenty-first century," he said.

The Minister of Health emphasized that the national multisectoral strategy for the prevention and control of noncommunicable diseases for the period 2019-2029 was part of a national context marked by institutional and political reforms: four priority axes were distributed between the 25 pillars of the 2025 Non-Communicable Disease Prevention and Control Health Plan With a clear priority for primary health care and health promotion in a service-centric and citizen-centered approach, the health sector being considered a cornerstone of human development, "said the minister.
