IPhone users claim that their phones are mysteriously slowing down several days after Apple launched a new, expensive range of smartphones.
Some reported that their old devices had suddenly stopped working or had slowed down, shortly after the company announced the release of "iPhone 11" earlier this week.
In 2017, Apple acknowledged having voluntarily released software updates to slow down some iPhones to protect its old batteries.
Subsequently, the problem was solved by updating and launching a new battery replacement program. The company said that it would "never do anything to shorten the life of an Apple product."
But after the unveiling of three new iPhones on Tuesday, September 10, some iPhone users have reported a repeat of the problem.
"After the announcement of the new iPhone, my phone has strangely stopped working," wrote a user in a Twitter tweet.
In this regard, Apple has not responded to the request for comment, according to the British website "The Sun".
There is a long debate about whether Apple is deliberately slowing down its hardware, a practice known as "programmed obsolescence". But society firmly denies the allegations.
According to Apple, the upcoming iOS 13, which is scheduled for release Sept. 19, will mark a speed increase that will halve the time of use of applications.
