The Thai football federation has announced the dismissal of coach Miroslav Rajevac after the 1-0 defeat against India on Sunday in the first round of Group A of the 2018 Asian Cup in the UAE.
The Thai Federation announced this news through its social media and decided to appoint assistant coach Serisak Yudhardathai as the team's director.
"The result against India was not expected and it did not reflect what the Thai team and the fans deserved," said the chairman of the Thailand Football Association, Sumiyot Bompanmong.
"Like all Thai football fans, I am frustrated by this result," he said. "But as president of the Thai Football Federation, I can not remain indifferent to that.
Rajevacch took control of Thailand in 2017 and previously worked in Qatar and Algeria and led Ghana to the quarter-finals of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
