Breeze Aviation Group has ordered around 20 additional Airbus A220-300s, strengthening the fledgling airline’s fleet and enabling longer domestic and short-haul routes.

Breeze will take delivery of its first A220 aircraft on October 26 and begin 4 flights by the launch of Airbus in the second quarter of 2022. The airline will announce the routes of its first A220 aircraft early next year, including its first intercontinental flights.

The airline, which began flights in May, offers routes between 16 U.S. cities from the Midwest to the East Coast using 13 Embraer SA regional jets.

Breeze recently secured $ 200 million in a second round of funding to fund its expansion, with investors including BlackRock, Nighthead Capital Management, Peterson Partners and Sandlot Partners.
