In the current days, Al-Ahly club officials are choosing between multiple resumes from more than one doctor in the club’s youth sector and outside of it to pick one to serve as the team doctor for succeed Dr Khaled Mahmoud, who officially resigned his post in the last few hours.
Al-Ahly’s doctor had tendered his resignation as the team’s coach a month ago, but Sayed Abdel Hafeez, the football manager, asked him to postpone the idea of leaving until the end of the African Champions League Championship which Al-Ahly crowned yesterday, Friday, by beating Zamalek with two goals for one goal.
After crowning the African title for the ninth time in Al-Ahly’s history yesterday, Château Rouge officials accepted Dr Khaled Mahmoud’s request to leave, especially since the latter had an offer to work in Saudi club Jeddah, in addition to his desire to leave due to family circumstances.
Al-Ahly officials believe that Dr Khaled Mahmoud has fulfilled his role fully, effectively and with all sincerity, so they have accepted his request to leave, provided the alternative is determined in the coming days, whether by calling in a doctor from the junior sector or by requesting the help of a doctor outside the club.
Al-Ahly starts tomorrow, Sunday, to prepare for the match against Al-Ittihad of Alexandria next Tuesday in the semi-final of the Egyptian Cup, then will play with Nahdet Berkane Al-Maghribi in the African Super Cup on December 10 at Cairo stadium.
