Abu Dhabi, under the patronage of HE Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance, will host the annual International Conference on Vitamin D Deficiencies and Human Health, organized by the VBS Group at the Jumeirah Hotel in Al Ittihad Towers. The conference aims to discuss the latest scientific research and developments in vitamin D deficiency and its impact on human health throughout life. The program includes a series of lectures on diseases and health problems related to vitamin D deficiency, which doctors can follow daily in clinical practice, and discuss the latest research in prevention and early detection and most important methods of treating diseases with the most modern treatment methods.
Evidence shows that adequate levels of vitamin D can prevent many bone disorders such as rickets in children, osteoporosis and osteoporosis in adults. Vitamin D deficiency is thought to be a widespread public health problem worldwide and is more prevalent in areas with low sun exposure, in sunny countries, and in the wider Middle East. The Gulf region is among the most deficient in vitamins in the world.
Despite numerous studies on the relationship between vitamin D and various health effects, differences remain in the determination of vitamin D levels and the possible consequences of its deficiency. This year's conference focuses on the latest research and clinical practices on vitamin D deficiencies and their effects on human health throughout life. The scientific program includes numerous lectures on the prevention and early detection, diagnosis and treatment of vitamin D deficiency and its role in human health.
750 doctors representing about 24 countries and regional and international association leaders attended the conference.
The conference was approved by the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi for 14 hours of continuing medical education.
