Ancelotti: Naples will retire if racist songs are repeated
Napoli coach Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that his team would be suspended from matches if the racist vocals of defender Claudio Colibay were repeated in a 1-0 defeat at Inter Milan's San Siro Wednesday.
The Senegalese defender lost his temper after receiving an ultimatum after an intervention against Matteo Bolitano in the 81st minute and was sent under the applause of his decision.
Ancelotti said Napoli had asked three times to stop the match after Coulibaly was cheered by racist cheers in the stands. He had been advised to stop the cheers without stopping. "Next time, we will stop playing and leave the stadium even if we lose the match. We asked three times to stop the match because of racist chants against Coulibaly."
"The boy was angry, he's an educated player and he was targeted … What happened was not only bad for us, but also for Italian football ", did he declare. "Coulibaly was ruled out because we played with ten men."
