Minister Adel Al-Jubeir stressed that relations between Arab countries and European countries are historical and distinct and that there are promising opportunities in terms of trade and investment between Arab and European countries, noting that the meeting was an opportunity to consult and exchange views and improve cooperation to overcome challenges and exploit available opportunities.
In a statement to the press, he said that consultations were under way with the brothers of the Arab countries in order to achieve a result guaranteeing the preservation of the unity and independence of Syria, the withdrawal foreign forces from Syrian territory and the implementation of Security Council Resolution 2254.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs met with the British Minister for Near East Affairs, Alistair Burt, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Adel Al- Jubeir, Spanish Foreign Minister Josep Borel, Malta's Minister of Foreign Affairs Carmelo Abella and Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Chabotovic.
During the meeting, they discussed issues of common interest, ways to strengthen cooperation and develop bilateral relations, which will contribute to the defense of the common interests of the Kingdom and these countries, in addition to the review topics on the agenda of the meeting.
