“Lulaki… if there hadn’t been… if not, I wouldn’t like this.” In simple words that have no depth or dimension, the song “Lulaki” by the late artist Ali Hamida surpassed any recordings a song could make when it was released.
The song, which the writers fundamentally didn’t expect to be successful, hit the sales throne at the Arab world level in 1988, and historically became a gateway through which an unknown singer pass to the world of fame and money. .
For me, Hamida
A song by Lolaki from singer Ali Hamida of Zikrayat Zaman http://www.facebook.com/zkrayat.zaman
Lowaki described at the time as a rebellious boom in the form of Egyptian song and its melodies, based on the sales volume of “bands”, which achieved 6 million copies in sales.
What’s interesting is that the company that produced the song initially only printed 100,000 copies and was surprised that all copies were off the market, and then they relaunched a million copies, so the case was repeated again.
The simple lyrics of a song written by Izzat Al-Jundi, composed by musician Sami Al-Hefnawi, and distributed by Hamid Al-Shairi, managed to mark the start of a new stage that has produced many stars in the hands of by Hamid Al-Shairi.
Lulaki was Ali Hamida’s starting point in the field of singing, and it is interesting that she also wrote him a singing death certificate, and “Al-Masry Light” tells the story of the song in detail. “Lulaki” in the following lines:
the beginning
The young man from Marsa Matrouh was full of vitality, activity and perseverance, convinced that he had a great talent for singing, so he searched a lot for production companies to present them ideas, but they were all unsuccessful attempts at the time.
Ali Hamida did not give up, as he went to the producer, Nassif Qazman, the owner of the Delta company, and in this regard, he says that he “will never forget in his life how the buffet had it. treated in an insulting manner. when he asked him for a cup of tea, he therefore preferred to leave the company, and he found in front of him only the composer Sami Al-Hefnawi. He was impressed by her voice, so he introduced her to the producer, Hashem Youssef, who was eager to introduce new voices, but made no decision without consulting his technical advisor, Hamid Al-Shairi.
“Al-Sha’ari” found in “Hamida” a buried artist who could be presented in a different way, according to “Ali”, and he presented his time in the album “Ayounha 1983” and “The Departure of 1983 “, but success was not their ally.
Hamid Al-Shairi thought of another lyrical project in the cast, hence the idea of ”Lulaki”, which began as a national song at the beginning, whose lyrics say: “Without you, O Egypt, I do not I didn’t sing, or love, or look at my hand, if it wasn’t for me, I wouldn’t have stepped in or answered for myself. ”
The young Bedouin said at the time that after listening to the song, he asked to rewrite it by keeping his name “Lulaki”, provided it was a moving song, since the patriotic songs are known to people but remember it on certain occasions. , and he also felt that they should express love in general., and it could be in Egypt, beloved, girlfriend or sister, and the name of the band would not bear the name of the song, but the specialists heard it and decided to be the name of the band because of its difference.
Indeed, “Lulaki” was an unprecedented success, and it was sung in 6 different languages around the world. You never imagined that this rebellious melody and cast would be sung by the whole world.
But the tax for this resounding success was harsh, as the song was the beginning of the beginning and also the death certificate of Ali Hamida’s artistic career. The singer of the single song did not achieve a success that surpassed “Lulaki”, but was surprised by very large financial demands from the tax administration due to the song’s broadcast and the glamor of his name and his presence in more than one workplace, hence the withdrawal from the scene, but in stages, after several unsuccessful attempts to return to the place.
Ali Hamida said in more than one TV interview that the tax administration considered the money from all these sales to be in his private money and not in the business, and therefore seized him in 1994 and demanded that he 13 million pounds.
He added: “This amount was very high in the 90s. They were buying Egypt as it is. I sold my house in Cairo, which consisted of two apartments on the Nile, in addition to selling three cars I owned, and I paid taxes and went through a rough time full of rumors. “
Speaking of which, the singer “Lulaki” stated that he did not know if the song was a blessing or a curse, so his thought often clashed between being “What Happiness” and “The Gate of Hell” which had was opened at his death.
The song, despite its success, was in fact like a death certificate issued to Ali Hamida, as his artistic life ended from that moment, as if he had died as a singer.
