Qatar beats United Arab Emirates and qualifies for first time in Asia Cup of Nations
Qatar has qualified for the first time in its history in the final of the AFC Asian Cup with a 4-0 win over United Arab Emirates hosts on Tuesday in half -final of the tournament.
The Qatari team will meet on Friday in the final with their Japanese counterpart, who won the semi-finals of Iran with three unanswered goals.
Boualem Khoukhi scored a goal for Al-Anabi in the 22nd minute and Al-Moez Ali added the second goal in the 37th minute to strengthen his lead to the top scorer with eight goals.
Hassan Al Heidos completed the trios of the Qatar team in the 80th minute before substitute Hamed Ismail finished in the saves.
The UAE team ended the match with ten men after the expulsion of Ismael Ahmed after a nudge, Salem Al-Hajri, in the closing seconds.
