Researchers at the University of California have discovered that alcohol and coffee figured high on the list of causes of atrial fibrillation.
The researchers published a list in the journal Heart Rhythm, which lists the leading causes of atrial fibrillation, a cardiac arrhythmia related to arrhythmias of the pulse.
The researchers based the results of their study and analysis of the health status data of 1295 patients with atrial fibrillation. They also studied the relationship between the effect of various factors on their lifestyle and the risk of progression of the disease.
The most common cause of AF is alcohol consumption (35%), followed by coffee (28%). Difficult exercise (23%) followed by poor sleep (21%).
The researchers suggest that these causes can worsen the crisis and that it is therefore necessary to determine whether the abandonment of coffee, for example, or alcohol will cause an interruption or reduce recurrence.
