The ambassador of the League of Arab States said: "We thank Russia for its endorsement in principle to this portal, which allows us to play an effective role in the resolution of crises."
In a previously published statement, the Russian Foreign Ministry expressed "deep concern about the progress of the Israeli-Palestinian settlement dossier", noting that "the void in the peace process in the Middle East creates fertile ground for unilateral action, for an internationally recognized solution to the Palestinian cause in which the two Israeli and Palestinian states coexist peacefully, among themselves and with all their neighbors. "
The Russian Foreign Ministry stressed that Moscow is still considering the solution of a two-state solution, preferable to settlement negotiations, to meet the national interests of the Palestinian and Israeli peoples, of our friends and even to all countries in the region and the international community. And reaffirms its commitment to United Nations resolutions on the principles of the settlement, including the prescription of East Jerusalem as the capital of the future Palestinian state. "
The Russian Foreign Ministry also said that its position on the Golan Heights was still stable, adding that Moscow considered it a Syrian territory occupied by Israel.
She added that Moscow still adhered to UN Resolution 494 of 1981, which considers Israel's decision to publish its laws and sovereignty over these Syrian territories as illegal and without legal force.
