"The Burj Al Arab Stadium floor is 100% ready for the summit," said Amer Hussein, head of the competition committee of the Egyptian Football Federation.
The city of Alexandria experienced heavy rain on Saturday, which clearly affected the ground of the Burj Al Arab stadium.
"The pitch is currently ready for the match at 100%, but we do not know it's going to rain again," Hussein told Al Ahly.
"The Romanian referee will go to the field to test and monitor the situation, the first and the last word."
"The meteorologists are waiting for it to rain again, especially at 7 o'clock, so it will be up to the referee," he said.
The African Football Confederation (CAF) has asked the Egyptian Football Federation to propose an alternative to the Burj Al Arab Stadium for the African Championships.
"The land has been processed and you will notice the change today," Hussein said.
