The UAE has stopped issuing new entry visas to citizens of 13 countries, including Iran, Syria, Somalia and Lebanon, according to media reports, according to a document released by the trade complex officially returning to the ‘State.

The document, which was sent to companies operating in the complex, was based on a circular from the Immigration Department that came into effect on November 18.
The document said applications for new work and visit visas have been suspended for nationals of 13 countries abroad, including Afghanistan, Libya and Yemen, until further notice.
The document says the visa ban also applies to citizens of Algeria, Kenya, Iraq, Lebanon, Pakistan, Tunisia and Turkey, and it is not clear what ‘there are exceptions to the prohibition.

And media reported that the UAE has temporarily stopped issuing new visas to Afghans, Pakistanis and citizens of several other countries due to “security concerns.”
Pakistan’s foreign ministry last week said the UAE has suspended new visas for its citizens and citizens of some other countries.
She said she was seeking information in the UAE on the reason for the suspension, but believed it was linked to the emerging coronavirus outbreak.
The Pakistani ministry said valid visa holders were not affected by the new restrictions and could enter the UAE.
