The Faculty of Medicine of Saint Joseph University and Binta have signed an agreement on a modern diagnostic technique to detect accurately and quickly a number of cancers. It is used for the first time in Lebanon, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
The agreement was signed by the chairman of the board, Bernard Tannoury, and by the dean of the faculty of medicine of the University, Professor Roland Tanb, in the presence of the two vice-presidents from the university, Dr. joseh Choueir, the Jesuit and professors Dula Sarkis, the dean of the faculty of pharmacy, Professor Marian Abi Fadil, as well as many university professors.
This innovative and recently developed technique enables the accurate and rapid detection of lung, breast, prostate and urine cancers, head and neck cancer and HPV (the cancer-causing germ).
Binta has acquired this innovative diagnostic technology through an agreement with IncellDX, an innovative American company, marketed in the United States and some European countries. The Medical Genetics Laboratory of the Faculty of Medicine at St. Joseph's University will analyze medical specimens to diagnose the patient's health condition.
Tannoury said in a speech that cooperation between the company and the university "is not the first and will not be the last." He stressed that both sides "had a common vision: to provide the best health services to patients in order to contribute to the modernization of the health sector in Lebanon".
