In an unprecedented recommendation, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in America, “CDC,” advised wearing masks indoors to prevent the corona virus.
The latest recommendation comes with a resurgence of coronavirus cases in the United States and warnings of a ‘killer winter’.
The “CDC” said Americans should wear face masks inside other people’s homes to prevent the virus, according to a report from the US “Bloomberg” agency.
The “CDC” added in its recent recommendation, “Consistent and correct use of face masks is a strategic public health issue to reduce the rate of respiratory infection (Covid-19).”
The report says wearing masks and maintaining social distancing is the most effective way to reduce Corona virus infections, along with expected vaccines.
Although the anti-Corona vaccines are on the verge of approval, experts suggest that the number of deaths linked to “Covid-19” will reach 4 thousand cases per day within two weeks.
Current figures for the virus in the United States paint a grim picture of the health situation with the onset of winter, the country having recorded 2,879 deaths from the Corona virus on Thursday.
The United States saw a record number of new infections with the Corona virus in 24 hours on Friday, reaching 225,201 new infections, according to statistics from Johns Hopkins University.
The university said the number of new deaths from the virus in the country during the same period reached 2,500.
