Apple executive confirms Touch ID and screen elements will not go anywhere

Apple has removed the fingerprint sensor Touch ID and replaced it with Face ID for the first time in 2017 with the launch of the iPhone X. Since then, Apple has integrated the year latest Face ID to the full range of iPhone and iPad Pro range. . Although Apple has clearly moved away from Touch ID, Apple's vice president of product marketing, Greg Joswiak, believes that the Touch ID still has a place in Apple devices for the foreseeable future.

Mr Greg Joswiak spoke in detail about Face ID with the British Daily Express. He pointed out that when first using Face ID on the iPhone X, the technology seemed normal. Over time, however, Apple engineers have improved the technology, allowing it to read user faces faster and better from different angles. All of these enhancements give Face ID an "incredibly natural" look.

Asked about the elements in the top center of the screen containing the components responsible for Face ID and the fact that Apple intends to replace it with a contextual camera, Greg Joswiak has said that even though his competitors were trying new things, he did not see that Apple was going to adopt Camera System pop-up as soon as possible.

Unlike Apple, the majority of Android phone manufacturers only rely on the front camera for 2D face scanning. This makes their facial opening techniques less safe and less accurate than Face ID, which performs a three-dimensional face scan.

Mr. Greg Joswiak admitted that Face ID technology was more expensive than touch sensor technology, which is why Apple will continue to use it in economical iPads. Although Apple continues to expand the use of Face ID on its devices, Touch ID will continue to make its way into the iPad lineup.
