For a while, iPhone systems suffered a security vulnerability that left them vulnerable to hackers. Despite Apple's solution to this problem, it has inadvertently reopened the same vulnerability in its latest iOS update.
The vulnerability had been identified and corrected by Google analysts in iOS 12.3, but cyber-experts have now discovered its resurgence with the update for iPhone OS iOS 12.4, released in July.
According to anonymous researchers who have revealed this flaw in the British Daily Mail, this flaw significantly reduces the obstacles faced by hackers seeking to steal user data.
The cyber-expert Jonathan Levin warned that since the latest version available for iOS is currently 12.4, and that this is the only version authorized by Apple to upgrade it, all devices running this release are likely to suffer a hacking called "Jail Break", which allows hackers to steal more than 100 days by modifying the data of the system itself.
Users will remain at risk until Apple releases the next update 12.4.1. In theory, hackers can exploit user information in Safari or install spyware on the phone.
Hackers can also integrate malware into an application already present on the iPhone, and the release of this new update by Apple should take several days.
